The Swedish Research Council has announced its grant recipients for Medicine and Health 2024. This year, the acceptance rate for project grants, which typically hovers between 20–28 percent, dropped to a challenging 19 percent. Lund University secured 29 out of 242 approved grants across various funding categories. Four of these were awarded to researchers affiliated with the Wallenberg Centre for Molecular Medicine (WCMM).
The two DDLS Fellows affiliated to Lund University, Camila Consiglio and Jacob Vogel, both received Starting grants in Medicine and Health. Camila Consiglio’s project, “Testosterone Regulation of the Human Immune System,” and Jacob’s project entitled: “Utilizing Alzheimer’s Disease Subtypes for Novel Biological Insights and Precision Medicine,” each aim to break new ground in their fields.
Additionally, WCMM Clinical Researcher Andreas Edsfeldt and WCMM Fellow Nick Leigh were awarded research Project grants for their respective projects, “The Role of Cell Death in Diabetes-Associated Cardiovascular Disease” and “Evaluating the Interaction Between the Adaptive Immune System and Tissue Regeneration.”
Congratulations to all of you!
